FAQS

Here are a list of some of the most frequently asked questions about
European river cruises.  If you have additional questions, please feel
free to call us.

How long are European river cruises?
Most Europe river cruises last from as few as 3 days to as long
as 25 days with the average cruise package being 9-12 days.

What is included in the price of my European river cruise?
Most Europe river cruises include the price of the cruise, all
shipboard meals and entertainment, some alcoholic beverages,
several shore excursions (unlike an ocean cruise) and sometimes
your airfare from the United States to Europe.

Plus, there will be plenty of on-shore time for you to either
explore the fabulous cities and towns on your own or to take
an included shore excursion.

Is the airfare included on my Europe river cruise?
We are able to offer you both cruise-only packages as well as
an all-inclusive price which will include the airfare and transfers
once you arrive.

Is a passport required?
All Americans are required to have a valid passport in order to
enter into European countries.

Will I get seasick?
European river cruises slowly glide down smooth, wave-free rivers.
It is extremely unlikely that you will be aware that your ship is
moving.  We've never had a client complain of motion sickness.

What is the on-board currency?
The currency used on board your Europe river cruise ship will be
the euro.

Will there be a lot of children on board?
No. Europe river cruises are NOT designed for children. Most of the
river cruise lines will not allow passengers under 12 as there are no
'kids clubs' or other facilities for them on the ships.

Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not permitted on board most of the European river
cruise ships. If it is allowed, it will be on the open deck only.
However, Peter Deilmann cruises, because it has more Europeans
on their cruises, has a very small smoking section of the lounge.

Smoking is not permitted in the cabins on any European river cruise.

Will I have to dress up for dinner?
At least one European river cruise line has a formal night,
you are not required to bring your tuxedo. The dress code is
runs from Country-Club Casual to just casual on the river cruise lines.

Are the European river cruise ships wheelchair accessible?
Regretfully, the ships are not accessible for individuals who
must use a wheelchair. Although there are 2 ships that have
elevators the ships are not considered to be accessible nor are
there accessible cabins.

What about any special dietary considerations?
For the most part, special dietary needs such as low-salt,
diabetic, vegetarian, low-cholesterol can be accommodated
with prior notice.
